Snobbish Customer Service
It takes a lot for me to take time out of my busy schedule to write a complaint but I can't let this go. I've been out of town for over a month on winter break (I go to school at Cornell University) only to return to see that three delivery attempts on a signature-required package was made when I was gone. Now, after three unsuccessful delivery attempts, the package gets sent back to its sender, fair enough. Thankfully, UPS allowed me to have a 4th attempt made and I was clear to ask what time these deliveries are made (seeing as how I had class from 11 AM onwards and wouldn't be home to sign for the package if it came any later). I was told the latest the delivery would be made was 10:30. Wonderful, I thought. So, come 10:45, the package didn't arrive (turns out it came at 1:45, not anywhere close to the time I was told it would arrive), and obviously no one was home to sign for it. Telling me the package would arrive by 10:30 only to come 3 hours later defeated the entire purpose of me asking the question. That was their first mistake.

So, I kindly call their national customer service line to see if I could have the package delivered on a Friday, when I don't have classes and be home ALL DAY just to sign for a package, since their delivery time quotes are obviously not to be trusted. Customer service then calls my "local" (and by local it turns out to be 7.5 miles away from my home) UPS office, where the gentleman proceeds to chide me for having the gall to request a Friday delivery (because obviously UPS isn't in the area delivering any other packages on a Friday <end sarcasm>) and then says with a sigh, "we've already tried delivering this 6 times". Besides the fact that technically he was off (they had only tried 4 times, the first 3 times I was on vacation and the 4th time it was their fault for delivering outside their quoted delivery window), his attitude was completely uncalled for.

There are certain customer service pet peeves and having a customer service representative "chide" me for completely reasonable requests is tops amongst them. Unbelievable.

Left packages on my private patio with my dogs
UPS has got to be the worst shipping company in the world. I can not believe this. I have a small fenced back patio and that is where my dogs stay when I'm not home. I never ever use the back patio door and only go out there every couple of days to clean up and throw out trash, etc. Yesterday they left several packages (Expensive brand new textbooks) on my back patio, in the middle of where my dogs have been going to the bathroom.

First of all that in its self is bad enough, and shouldn't be tolerated.

Second, they don't care if it's raining or snowing, they will leave them there in bad weather, so that when I get the packages they are SOAKED through, and the contents are destroyed.

Third, what gives them the right to enter my private patio when I have dogs back there! What happens when one of them opens the gate and lets the dogs out?

Anyways, while those are all big deals, but that's not the least of it. The thing that makes me so ticked is that yesterday when they left them out there I didn't see them until this morning and they are ruined. The cover is COMPLETELY ripped off of one of the books. I know that my dogs are the ones to blame, and really it is my for not training them to leave them alone, but they are still just puppies. Less than a year old, and I can't really blame them for that.

This is the second time my property has been destroyed before I had it in my hands, as right before christmas they left packages outside in the pouring rain, and things were damaged.

I don't know where to start but I am so mad at UPS right now, and I will be taking action against them. If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Delivery Lies
UPS is in my view one of the WORST service providers. I was recently sent a package from Ontario by ground transportation. The package was delayed 8 hours within UPS facility for incorrect routing ! Then I was assured that I would receive it by the end of Monday. Nothing arrived. During the day, I noticed a status update from EDMONTON which said - "Adverse Weather Conditions". This was posted at 3am. The day was the BEST day Edmonton has enjoyed weather wise in 5 days !! However, the package had left Ontario 4 days ago and was on its way to Alberta, expected to be delivered on day 4. I called UPS no less than 8 times - and got mixed responses from RUDE to semi polite. One even went as far as to say the package was on delivery route, that they had got in touch with the driver and she would deliver on her route. I had EVEN offered to meet the driver ANYWHERE in the City to receive the package - I wanted it by tonight !! I think that I was being told lies all through the day. When I called at 6:30pm or so, I was told that the package was not even in Edmonton. WHAT?? Contrary to all the information I was being fed during the day? DISGUSTING LIES is all that UPS seems to work with as their business ethics !! SHAME ON YOU. Please note that in the mean time - I got 2 other packages, ONE from Ontario and another Montreal. Transported by FEDEX and DHL respectively - both were sent last week - around Thursday and arrived today - the adverse weather conditions did not affect your competitors !!

50 percent failure rate
6 boxes shipped to potential investors, each containing a prototype that took us weeks to build. I personally packed each as if it was nitroglycerin.
Box 1 arrived with no external damage, although a well-protected part was broken in half. I did not file a claim on this one.
Box 2 arrived with no external damage, although the packing material was missing, the product had been disassembled and its parts were scattered throughout the box.
I filed a claim but their making me jump through hoops, asking for pictures, the invoice, a packing list, their tracking number, my account number and my shipper ID, all of which I’ve been mailing one at a time because each time they get what they asked for they ask for something more. I’m mailing these because after spending an hour trying to send it using the electronic link they emailed, I called only to find out it doesn’t work.
Box 3 arrived looking like a used piñata, the bubble wrap I personally wrapped around and taped to the prototype was gone, the prototype disassembled and its parts were scattered through out the box.
I filed a claim and UPS sent a driver out to inspect it. A couple days latter a UPS customer service rep. called, she said, “I’m sorry your box was damaged in shipment, unfortunately your claim has been denied because the box you used does not meet UPS standards.” The confirmation email stated the box was not strong enough to hold the 8-pound item.
The other 3 arrived without damage.
A few days latter they emailed 4 credit card adjustment notices, 3 dimensional weight adjustments ($22.16, $13.00 $16.22), and 1 address correction charge ($10.00).
All 6 boxes were clearly marked 18x18x16, but UPS measured 19x18x17, 18x17x17 and 19x18x17. After several back and forth emails they issued credits on 2, they’re not retuning my emails regarding the other 2.
Concerned that one of their employees was stealing my invention, I called customers service, after telling my story, the rep. said “Sorry your boxes were damaged in shipment, you can file a claim on line or if you like I can help you.” Sensing I was upset he transferred my call to a higher-up. After telling her my story she said, “Sorry your boxes were damaged in shipment, you can file a claim on line or if you like I can help you.”
UPS gets away with this because they can, if one of my customers complains I fix it, when theirs complain they say “Sorry…can’t do anything for you, it’s ok if you fire us, our system is set up to make more money with less customers.
If only there was law firm willing to after these crooks and make them pay back the millions they’re stealing from us with their fraudulent measurements and insurance fees for claims they deny at their discretion.
Isn’t it a crying shame our only recourse is posting UPS Sucks stories, I’m posting mine hoping it will help me get over it and go on to more important matters, like finding a few potential investors to replace the ones UPS lost.

LOST ITEM (1 BAG)
I went to UPS store location at 2900 steel avenue west, vaughan, ON L4K3S2, CANADA on 10/12/10 to parcel my two bags to USA. My experience was very strange. The guy who was labeling my bags with my name and information had put one big label to first bag and one small label to my second bag. I asked him why did he put small label to my second bag instead my big one. He replied "it doesn't matter, your bags will be dilivered to your address". I've paid almost $200 for my two bags. Its been almost 3 months now and I still did not receive my bags yet. Guess what had happened????? Out my two bags- 1 bag was dilivered back to canada address from where I've parcel it to USA. The second bag is still missing. I've made phone calls for almost 50 times about my lost bag and I am still calling, whenever I call them they put me on hold for long long time and after that manager/supervisor comes on phone tells me that they have opened tracing department, and when I call them again they tell me that they have closed the tracing department and they can not do anything to help me. I never got satisfactory answer from UPS people about my lost bag. I am very disappointed with UPS itself and its staff. I'll never suggest anyone to go for UPS. UPS as a company is liar/cheater as they are lying with me from the day 1st when I have parcel my bags. Now they tell me they can not do anything about my lost bag I'll have to forget my my bag in which I'd expensive stuff. I've called them on 1-800-263-8125, 1-800-459-4877 and I am listing couple of UPS employees with their ID numbers who I spoke with -- 2941 samantha, 2673 Mary, 3169 Redica, 3660 July, 3262 Jenny, 3145 Karry, 3346 Michael. My planning is to get UPS on TV news and make this issue newspaper headline and I am seeking legal help with attorney. My email address is [email protected], [email protected] and my tracing number is H0419193654.

Rip off
Just prior to Christmas in 2010, I shipped a small package (a 11" x 14" envelope) from my Local (Tracy CA) UPS office, to Ontario, Canada.

The shipping was already expensive--$18, with no rush, but I assumed that was because it had to travel outside the USA. When my recipient was supposed to receive it a week later, she got a note stating that UPS wanted an additional $50.00 to deliver it. Why? UPS charges a "customs duty fee" that was never disclosed to me at the time of shipping. We both balked at the charge! When neither of us paid it within two weeks, while we argued the unfairness of the charge with UPS, they threatened to destroy it by friday of that week. We had to pay. They scammed us!!! UPS is a rip-off!! Don't use them.

Destruction of propety
I shipped a Beautiful Bicycle which was destroyed by UPS over Christmas. This Claim was denied by UPS. They say a bicycle box is not strong enough to hold bicycles. The used bicycle shipping box was perfect when it was shipped.

No box could withstand the forces UPS put on this box. It was likely dropped several times on the end, despite the up arrows.

This box safely carried a bicycle 13, 000 miles and delivered it in perfect condition. UPS destroyed it in 1200 miles.

Its ironic that Chinese dock workers, and non union persons delivered the first bike halfway around the world without a mark on the box. and those overpaid union pigs at UPS ruined it in a trip to Las Vegas. A simple web search will produce hundreds of damage claims denied for no good reason. They seem to just take the insurance money and deny everything. Check Consumer Affairs about UPS. The dont care how they treat your stuff and wont pay for the damages their indifference causes.

Remember this if you ship a bicycle, your at your own risk, as they will deny the claim.

DO NOT SHIP WITH UPS, unless you dont care about your items

We need a class action suit. They accepted the merchandise as packed and took the insurance money with the item in plain sight.

Rude and Doesn't del their packages
I travel a lot and I schedule all my deliveries when I am town. I had an order that was delivered to UPS on 1/10/11. The weather conditions was not good, so it was not delivered. However it is still not delivered and the weather conditions are fine. They were fine on 1/13/11 and It is now 1/16/11.

I called UPS and was told by Ann and Lycafa that they would guarantee the delivery to be no later than 1/13/11. After 7:00 p.m. on 1/13/11, I called UPS and try to reschedule my delivery since I was leaving for out of town the next day. I was rudely told by J.C. and her supervisor Matt that they would deliver it the next day and if I reschedule the delivery, I would be charged $6.00 and as you can see by this letter, it was not delivered the next day.

I know I won't have a choice, but if I did, I WOULD NEVER USE UPS. As my letter states, I am still waiting on my package. The only reason my package has not been delivered is because it is in the back of the UPS Truck. I guess they will deliver it when they get around to it.

Package non-delivery
UPS- "out for Delivery" status really means, "We'll deliver it if we feel like it."

For Two days now, my package delivery status has been "OUT FOR DELIVERY". Still havent gotten it. Each night, status changes to Weather related problems beyong UPS control."

Baloney. The snowstorm was a week ago. All roads are clear. Where'e my package? Driver too lazy to work past 5 pm to deliver all the packages on his truck? I called UPS, and their people would only say "it supposed to be delivered sometime befoer the end of the day." Well...its already 7 pm.!I personally, will NEVER ship UPS again if that's the way they take care of thjeir packages.
