Before considering US Bancorp (US BANK) for investments, watch out for exorbitant fees. Since I have a checking and savings account with US Bancorp (US Bank), I decided in October 2009 to take out a Roth IRA with US Bank Investments. In October 2010, I found out there was a $40 annual fee for the IRA account. I also have an IRA with Vanguard and their $20 annual fee is waived if one goes paperless. There is no such option with US Bank Investments. Upon transferring my Roth IRA from US Bank to Vanguard, I just found out US Bank charges a $75 transfer fee. Within one month I was charged $115 in fees by US Bank for an investment I lost more money on than any interest gained. In my opinion, US Bank Investments is one of the better examples these days of a “rip off”.
