Verizon offers broadband service over their V640 Express Card. They billed me $400 for roaming over into Canada when I was never in Canada. For 5 years in the same location they billed $60 plus a month for service. I called customer service. They were nasty, horrible and absolutely said pay the bill, you incurred the service. I explained I was never in Canada. I said I will pay some of it just to work it out, but I have been a customer for over 5 years and have the expectation of remaining a customer for 20 more. They said, tough, pay it or leave. I cancelled my service right at that point. They showed total disregard for customer service or my long term loyalty or desire to be a customer. They wanted me to go for some reason. The ROI on collecting $400 immediately in lieu of $5, 000 plus in future fees was crazy to me, and I asked the agent about that. She responded pay it or go. I have never experienced such horrible service or interaction, period. She was located in Houston and was the service supervisor. I will never ever do business with this terrible company again, it must be nice to be either a monopoly or figure you have enough customers. She seemed glad to send me to AT&T and I signed a 2 yr deal with them today, wow, I guess churn and horrible customer relationships is what Verizon is aiming for and they are getting it, maybe the new SPRINT on the block. Either way, stay away for sure they will "screw" you to the wall and tell you to go away.
