identity theft
On July 15 I tried placing a call from my phone and got a record message saying my phone was no longer in service. I called Verizon to check and was told that my number had been changed. I told them I had made no changes and they asked me to hold on while they checked into it. I was then told that my account had been hi-jacked and my phone service had been moved to a different phone and number. I ask how this could happened and after farther checking I was told by Verizon it was done "in-house". I was told this meant a Verizon employee had gained access to my account and made the changes and had charged $250 worth of air time to my credit card. This was done in three charges of $100, $100, and $50. Verizon changed the service back to my phone but refused to credit the money back to my card. I was told I would have to handle that myself through my bank, which is Bank of America. After several days of phone calls to Verizon and being told there was nothing they could do and that if I wanted anymore information I would have to get a subpeona. I asked for the name and ID of their representative I was speaking to and was told I would only get that through a subpeona also. Finally Verizon did refund $150 to my card but still refused to return the other $100 and I was given no sensible reason for their actions. At first Bank of America refunded the final $100 to my card but then changed there stance and told me it was my problem with Verizon and I would have to deal with them myself. They allowed Verizon to charge the $100 to my card. Verizon has admitted to me and has told me that it is documented on my account that a Verizon employee did gain access to my account and make the changes and charges to my card without authorization. But yet they are unwilling to accept any responsibilty or offer any help in finding the responsible employee or returning my money to me which Verizon has in their hands. I have filed a complaint with the Valdosta Ga. police and a detective is currently looking into the case. I have more detailed information I can provide if it will help. I just don't know were to turn. I have contacted a couple of attorneys concerning the matter but most seem little interested due to the small amout of money involved. But I see it as a crime being committed against me and my family and being compound by Verizon (surprisingly) even though admitting knowledge that an employee committed an illegal act, still refusing to accept responsibility and worse yet refusing to return my money which they gained possesion of through a criminal act.

KimonyI am glad I don't have FIOS bundle

Poor customer service
I am glad I don't have FIOS bundle from Verizon. Friends and family members who switched to FIOS are very frustrated with Customer Service provided and response from representative (if you can get to them). I am glad that I don't have FIOS and now even more determined not to have FIOS after a terrible customer service experience that I lately had to resolve one issue with my DSL slowness. I am writing this out of sheer frustration and disappointment that I had lately. I fell sorry for those who got FIO and are now in trouble for not getting what they were told :(

Fraudulent customer service
I had Verizon Fios for over 2 years now and my bill never was the same. Once my 2 yrs contract was over, I wanted to renew my contract and the customer service made sure that my bill will not exceed $130.00 a month. I only have the basic stuff, no HBO, Cinemax.Etc. My first bill after then was $160.00 and the one after was $170.00. I felt like i was cheated. I called again and again, but they dont even come up with a solution for you, they will keep on hold for a long time and they will be like Hmmmm what was the issue again... I have canceled my service with them and I am going to dispute the cancellation fee. I am requesting the previous recorded calls to be reviewed. Bottom line, they dont deliver on their promises and once you are under contract, they will not care for any issues you have. Please be aware of Verizon customer service and the companys practices!!!

Internet Servive
I have been a verizon customer for years. We started by having a home phone. Then in January we bundled the internet and the phone together. That was the biggest mistake of our lifes. Our home phone would ring at all hours with someone elses computer dialing up. We called verizon many many times and then finally had to disconnect the phone.
We kept the internet however it has been the worst service that i have ever had. The internet would go down on a daily basis. We would call verizon and stay on the phone for hours and hours ( nightly basis) We would have to reboot the system and go through many steps to have it up and running. We would talk to supervisor due to the customer service reps that answered the phone didn't even speak english.
Then finally the last straw I was on the phone for almost two hours and all the supervisor could say was that a tech would come out the house. I advised them the last time that a tech was suppose to come out they never showed up and the supervisor laughed. VERIZON HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE WORST SERVICE.

Suppose to Pay for services which I never used
I had online requested Verizon to install High Speed DSL internet at our home in Tx in Jan 2010.The initail process of purchase got over and Verizon had sent us the modem. But when technician came to our home to switch on internet(since we were unable to do it through instruction CD), I was informed that Grande has contract for our whole society and they will be unable to provide servies at that time.Hence I was requested to send back modem.I did that immidately and Vz also recieved it.But after 4 months I was schocked to see letter from collections that we have $21.64 pending with verizon, when I enquired with collections they routed me to verizon, since they didnt have any details.I circled back with verizon and came to know that it was shipping fees of modem, which I dont need to pay, it was by mistake. They also told to dispute the amount with Verizon as well as with collections.I did the same.I was also informed incase of any issues, I will be informed by mail or certain comunications.3 months passed without any communications but day before yesterday I got the letter from another collections agencey asking for same amount on behalf of verizon.I was so frustrated but still I clamly spoke with my collection agencies (who again routed me to VZ) as well VZ customer services.Talking to customer service for 1 hour, they again finally agreed that it was a glitch and I dont need to pay the amount. But when I asked for wriiten confirmation they routed me to their customer finance department .While Talking to them, I was informed that I have to pay this amount to get out of collections, they said they cant see what customer service has infomed me nor any updates saying we dont have to pay anything and unfortunately I was back to zero.I am so frustrated now that I have not used VZ service for an hour but then also due to misscommunication from VZ I have to pay $21 and also have to bear negative mark in my credit score ..Its really not the matter of paying some bucks, but it really shows that there is no customer care in VZ.Nobody knows anything, they whole company is like black whole and customers are fools to get attracted by their customer loaylity myths.
I would really request my fellow friends to not go to this service provider, who dont even listen to their customers problem.
Solution:
REMOVE my $21.64 from my account as promised by their customer services and give me in written that I wont be bugged by ANY collections agency in future .Also remove negative remark on my credit report.
I have really had a worst experience with VZ after just ordering the equipment.GOD knows what is happening to people who are using it.

complaint
We had Altel cellphone service and everything was fine. Verizon bought Altel and everything is terrible. They started adding first $24.00 a month for "Voice" the next month $50.40 for "Voice". We are retired, very seldom use the phones, and never used voice, don't even know how to use it.
We called customer service 3 times, e-mailed, and visited a store twice. They say we have to pay! That we were on the internet! Whatever we say to the contrary, they disregart and say "You have to pay the charges" It's madding. Verizon thinks they can charge bogus charges whenever and whatever they makeup and think there is nothing the customer can do about it. I've never hated a company more or thought less of their service. We still are getting giant bills for what? They can't even tell you what they are for!!!

Money
Yes! Hello! Im really concerned about something that deals with your company and its fine workers. But first let me point out that I appreciate all the hard work you all put into your job everyday. Secondly, I must admit that im glad this bad economy hasn't expelled you off the charts. What I am concerned about is more of a question. Why do you charge 25 cents per minute on a pre-paid phone? Is there really a reason you cant do 5 cents a min, or even 10 cents a min? I really think you should really take the low class into consideration. I really don't wish to change plans or anything like that. Its hard enough nowadays to even afford a phone. So please take my questions into consideration not for just me but for every person that suffers through a low economy life.
Thank you for your time.

Issue with Property Alteration - Ticket # PACU01S72R
A Verizon supervisor came to my home eleven days ago and, without giving me any advance notice whatsoever, cut up my shrubs and left a mess strewn across the sidewalk for which I could have been fined or sued if anyone had tripped over it. The only reason I found out what had happened was that my next door neighbor had received a note from the Verizon supervisor, Barb Simco, (whom you would think would have more sense) informing her of what they did. Why this Verizon employee did not simply come to my house and ring my doorbell to let me know what she was about to do is anyone's guess. The fact that she had to gain access to an obstructed telephone box is understandable, but the procedure in which this was done was incredibly sloppy to say the least, not to mention totally unprofessional. Apparently someone in the neighborhood was having telephone service installed and this had to be done through the box on my property. Upon calling the phone number that was left in the note by Ms. Simco, I got nothing but a full voicemail box, so I wasn't even able to leave a message, and of course all I got was the runaround from Verizon when I called their dozens of 800 numbers. So here are several pics of the damage that was done (and this is after I'd gathered all the cut branches from the sidewalk and placed them back with the rest of the bush, but these branches are dead now and will decay soon), and of course it will cost at least 50 dollars to have all the dead brush hauled away because these thoughtless jackasses wouldn't simply haul it away themselves. It makes no sense. They'd obviously brought the equipment needed to cut up my bushes, so the least they could have done was bring the equipment needed to clean up the ridiculous mess they made. Before this incident, I had actually been considering becoming a Verizon customer in the near future. No way would I ever trust them now.
