Customer Service
We got FIOS installed in February 2009. The Internet, TV and phone all work fine. The customer service is another matter. I work for a major insurance company and the good news is that we would never treat our customers like this. We have been trying unsuccessfully to get our cable buried. When the technician came out to install, he ran a different cable to the other side of the house. Verizon can't seem to understand the reasoning behind why we need it buried. Weekly phone calls resulted in no service. We started calling every day now for the last few weeks. Still nothing. We were told Saturday. Then we were told that someone was here doing it today. Well, guess what? It's still not buried. I don't think it's a difficult request, but for some reason, it just can't be handled. We keep getting told to call back the next day if it hasn't been resolved. Well, I should start charging my hourly salary for all the time we're spending on the phone with them.

Sesurity Suite
Why do I not get updates or at least notified of changes in the Security Suite Software. Due to the old version that was left running on my computer I didnt have a fire wall and the result was an invasion ofv my system. I scanned with verizon and it showed everything was okay but dell scanned it found 55 viruse, worms, trojans ect ect ect. but this is not the first time but I cant cancel because I dont have another service.
My biggest problem is the time it took me to get someone who was willing to help me. Your employee Sheril was a very kind and caring person as well as 2 other gentlemen prior to her, they were great as well.
I find it extremly confusing trying to navigate your Telephone service and the lenght of time it takes to get to the proper Tech is rediculous. I cannot believe I pay for this abuse.
I also want you to know that ever since this Secrity suite was installed I have had more viruses than I ever had. Then to get shuffled arround and take a half a day of my time to sit on the phone until someone fixes the problem and then "Verizon corporate" does not not even apolagise or offer
some type of compensation for my inconveiance.
No wonder why the American coporate world is in the mess there in.

Poor Customer Service
Beware of Verizon, they have poor service and lack communication. I recently signed up for Verizon Fios, I had Comcast before, honestly I notice no difference. The only reason I got Verizon was because of the fast internet and clear HDTV, and its not all that great. Well I'm regreting it now! I'm stuck in a one year contract and they get to charge my credit card (if you don't get a home phone with them they won't send you a paperbill and the only way you can pay is with automatic recurring payments). All of this they neglected to tell me. So finally I called "customer service" and when I finally got through their automated customer service, their customer service agents are rude and useless. And FYI installment takes about half a day so if you're ready to change service just to try out Verizon Fios, be ready to endure a year of poor service.

Pays H1B Visa Holders but not US citizens during recurring layoff period
Hello recently we were told there will be two-week layoff periods starting in July and again in October. Verizon will not be paying its US Citizen workers during the recurring layoffs but they will continue to pay their H1B Guest Workers their salaries (even though they too are technically "laid off" during this time. This is an unfair business practice and it makes no sense why our Govt would allow this!! We are US Citizens if you are paying your foreign guest workers but not your US Citizens then DAMMIT you have NO BUSINESS here in America! Who do these companies think they are?? Import people from India into American MIDDLE CLASS jobs, and then even when there is a layoff they STILL GET PAID THEIR SALARIES??? But Americans dont?? They say they have to do this as this is a policy Obama put in place when he assumed office unter the TARP bill.
So its ok for some NON US CITIZEN to still be able to pay his bills but me who worked his WHOLE LIFE to get the job he has, I get to go without because I am not a foreiger?? this worlsd really ished up and im steamed, slumdogs

worst service ever
You would think Verizon being a phone company, they could fix a phone line in less then 5 days. Seems they could care less about customer service. I'm looking for any way to drop these Bastards.

Awful service
While house shopping in Berkeley Springs WV, I called Verizon to verify that the homes I was interested in were able to connect to the internet via DSL service. Verizon sold me DSL and telephone service at my new home, I bought the house, they sent me the DSL box but when the installer arrived, he laughed at me and said there was no way Verizon could provide DSL service to my new home. I now have a house and home office with no internet service. It has negatively impacted my income, and cut me off from social and business networks.
My property is situated in such a way that connection to satellite service is also not possible. It is a rural area, but I live only 1.5 miles from a major state highway. This is not as if I am on some remote mountaintop. Verizon simply chooses to refrain from installing the necessary equipment in the box that connects my telephone service. The installer says there are over 300 houses in the area that are in the same situation, yet somehow the sales department doesn't know that and sells service they can't provide.
Verizon encourages their sales people to slam sales without really knowing if the service can be connected. Verizon still sends me bills for DSL after 5 months. Every month my Verizon telephone phone bill offers internet service they cannot provide. Numerous calls to Verizon have revealed that not only are they not exactly positive where they can provide internet service, they also do not reveal their expansion plans internally. A customer service rep actually told me that they have no idea where new service will be installed, only the engineering dept does, yet somehow they still sell service to anyone who calls.
The damage to my business and income from this deceptive practice is huge. I purchased a home with the assurance that I would be able to continue my internet based business. Verizon went as far as to send me the connection kit before the installer arrived to say that there was no possible way to connect me as the required service equipment is not even installed in my service area. The fact that Verizon allows customers to make decisions about their financial lives based on information that cannot be substantiated is criminal.
Additionally, not only does Verizon engage in bad business practices, they cherry pick the low hanging fruit and ignore rural America. They profit on the easy access and refuse to serve rural Americans who desperately need internet service. Believe it or not, in today's world, there are people who cannot connect to the internet. After moving from Dallas Texas to West Virginia, I assumed that Verizon had the same level of service across it's network. That was a very bad assumption..

Horrible agents
I just got off the phone with an extremely rude agent at Verizon #800-483-5000.
Here is my issue.
I am opening a new location for my company below. YES I am the owner. I
called Verizon in Dec to get a phone number so I could start marketing my new address-phone number. I made it VERY clear to the rep that I wanted a phone number ONLY, basic service since I would not physically be at the location until Mar 1st, 2009.
Now I am told by this unprofessional, rude young man that I had full features added, ie: unlimited long distance and voice mail, call forwarding, etc etc etc!! He also stated I WAS UNDER CONTRACT I have never signed a contract with Verizon, nor would I never! Today I got a bill from Verizon for a line that doesnt even have a phone connected to it for $225!!
To say I had a fit was an understatement. I called Verizon immediatly and got this cocky, rude, arrogant young man. He mocked me, he insulted me and got me to the point I wanted to reach thru the phone and punch his face and I'm not violent!
He finally removed the features and the long distance but refused to credit my account.
All this treatement for a brand new business account!! I'm sending this forward to the FCC.
This is a horrible way to introduce a new customer, don't you think!

Unauthorized billing
I received unauthorized 3rd party account of 14.95, this just started Feb of this month, 2009. 'I did a Google search and found many complaints about this being a scam. it's Sunday today and want to get ahead of the game. I from all the Stories I've seen about this scam it seems that Verizon has no control on this or do they?
I am customer of Verizon, so I demanded Verizon to resolve the issue of letting other scam companies have control of there billing system
If you go to ESBI's website, they don't even have a phone number! You have to email them for questions and wait 2-3 business days for a response. GOOD LUCK!

Scam charges
I noticed charges from Verizon totaling over $70.00 directly billed to my checking account for services I didn't order and didn't even receive! I called Verizon and they claimed I ordered online services to be billed directly to my checking account for High Speed Internet. When I explained to them that this was impossible due to my situation they acted like they didn't believe me. In addition to that, to cancel the service (I didn't even order) they charged me an early termination fee of $80.00. Yes, friendly customer service. 'Sorry, we can't help you, that will be an additional $80.00.'
