Ordered early, they sold more than they had, told me 5 days before xmas I was out of luck
On November 7th (seven weeks before christmas) I found the perfect christmas gift for my brother so I ordered it. Because it contained food (cheese and pears) I delayed the shipment till christmas. I was assured that it would arrive on time. Vivaterra emailed me Dec 20th to tell me that it was no longer available. They took more orders than they had items and told me the early orderer that I was out of luck. When I called to complain the customer service supervisor told me it was not their fault because I had not paid. When I said I had given my payment information 6 weeks ago and that they should have held one for me, the supervisor told me again that it was my fault and why would they hold the product when I hadn't paid yet. Then she hung up on me. It is not my fault if vivaterra does not charge my credit card at the time of the order. I have no control over that. They took the order, that should have taken one product out of inventory so they did not sell more than they had. They did not do this and now, five days before christmas no gift will arrive for my brother. I have no time to get something across the US to him before christmas. Perhaps if I shop today, the friday before xmas and spend $75 to ship overnight it has a chance. But I ordered in advance to avoid the last minute scramble. This is the third order i have made with them and the third time they have messed it up. The first was when they first started nine years ago, I ordered apple trees for my dad. He didnt' tell me until months later that when they arrived they were all dried out and dead. The second order was a few years ago I ordered a frame made of recycled bangle bracelets. It came broken. This is a terrible company. Do not ever order from them and spread the word.

Bad service
I will never ever ever order anything from Viva Terra again. I received a gift item that didn't fit. I wanted to exchange it. I tried emailing customer service, but no one ever replied. I ended up calling. I spoke to a customer service rep who said he'd take care of everything, but I never received the promised faxed address label for the exchange. I called back. I spoke to 3 more people, never could reach a supervisor (I hung up after 20 mins on hold). They couldn't help me (3 customer service reps, 3 different reasons why they couldn't help me). I gave up on the exchange and will return the gift item at my expense. Was told it may take 1 to 2 billing cycles for my husband's credit card to be credited for the return. At this point I have zero faith that the return will go well.

Horrible service, no delivery, wont cancel order!
Where to begin. ordered a gift, 2 day delivery. Got confirmation. never shipped. Was given bogus shipping code. sent 40 emails, not ONE answer. Called help lines, on hold over one hour, after 4 calls finally got a supervisor who told me the items were ""shown as being shipped but she knew they had not been", could not tell me when they may be, and, "{cant cancel your order because they are shown as delivered". Called companies main office, office of the president, Bob Perkowitz and got a recording with a phone number to call, and then got some poor poor man whose actual number it was who had gotten over 40 calls so far, 10 am the day after Christmas... obvious wrong number. No answer at any corporate office, and noone will return calls. This company is an ""environmental big deal", but is the worst we have ever dealt with.
