Well Point Pharmacy - controlled by Blue Cross Well Point has unilaterally changed co-pay amounts for prescription medications without Blue Cross approval. For example, for expensive prescriptions Well Point will contact the subscriber and state that the co-pay amount has changed from $100 to $200 per month, when in fact Blue Cross did not change the co-pay amount. Unless the subscriber complains enough to have Blue Cross investigate Well Point, the subscriber is charged the extra $100 per month needlessly and to the benefit of Well Point. It cannot be determined the scale of the Well Point unilateral price changes, but this experience suggests it is large-scale.
