I moved in West Apartments back in August 2010, when I came to fill out the application I gave them a money order for the app fee and the security deposit which was 10.00 and 99.00. I got approved for the apartment and was told that I would have to pay a pro rated rent which was 199.38 and my first months rent (I was told this would also be my security deposit). So I had no problems up until November, when a new staff was hired and thats when the drama began. I started getting notices on my door saying that I still owed all this money for a security deposit, I told them over and over that I paid my security deposit when I moved in, I gave them all my receipts and everything, but I still had issues. Finally I was told, that the information that I was given by the previous staff that was there was wrong, so here I was getting penalized having to pay out 472.00 for a daggon security deposit. Once that got taken care, I received another notice on my door this past weekend stating that I owed 194.00, I was like for what? I called down to the office to find out what was going on this time, and I was told that I owed 150.00 in late fees and 44.00 security deposit. I informed them that I hadn't paid any fees since I moved in because I don't get my government benefits until the 5th of each month. Again I was told I was given the wrong the information. I called to the corporate office and spoke with a supervisor, letting them know the situation, I was told by them that they can't waive the late fee, because I can't control when the government pays me. The supervisor at the regional office had the nerve to say "I understand your frustration", I told her, "No you don't understand, because its not you. Its sad that I've served this country for almost 9 years and I can't even get a break because my rent will be 2 days late. It sucks and so do they. I mean its bad enough that they have a cockroach problem and break-ins over here, but the fact that they won't even work with someone shows a lack of heart and consideration. I will advise anyone and everyone I know not to ever move into these apartments.
