This showed up on my online bank account and like everyone else I was thinking, what the heck is this. As mentioned in the post of November 17, 2011, these were David's Bridal monthly payments. WFC PBP CP WEB PMT is who they use to process the payments. What a relief, at least my checking account wasn't hacked!

Only a $4.99 charge on my checking account, but still, it was unauthorized. Reported to my bank (M&T) - they were unable to tell me who/what it was and refused to credit my acct. unless I signed an affadavit, which I did. No clue who accessed my acct or what for - per web searches, WFC = Wells Fargo Corp and PBP = pay by phone. Other that that, I am clueless. And annoyed.

I just noticed two strange looking charges made to my checking account and called my bank to report them. The charges appear as WFC PBP CP WEB PMT. The charges are one for $50.00 and one for $57.00 and were made on January 5 and January 19, 2011 respectively. When I contacted my bank, I was told that they could't verify the companies that submitted these charges but that they were going to put a hold on any future charges on both companies. When I googled WFC PBP CP WEB PMT, I discovered that many more people are being cheated out of their money using the same method. Folks, check your bank statements often and make sure you identify each transaction and report any charges from companies you don't do business with. Someone is making a ton of money illegally!
