Worcester Window Replacement counts double-hung windows among its core services in Rutland. Double-hung windows are the traditional choice for New England homes and keep the look of older colonials, capes and triple-deckers. Interlocking sashes and weatherstripping on newer units close the drafts that leak through the meeting rail of old windows. Tilt-in sashes on modern double-hungs let both sides of the glass be cleaned from inside, which matters on upper floors. Double-hung windows have two operating sashes, so the top can be lowered for ventilation while the bottom stays closed. Rutland is known as the geographic center of Massachusetts, with colder, snowier winters than the city below. The business is locally owned, and the owner handles inquiries personally. Rutland's rural lots and hilltop homes face strong winds that make tight windows and doors a priority. The crew arrives on time and skips the sales pitch at the kitchen table. Homeowners often pair this work with vinyl windows or storm windows. Nearby, it also serves Worcester, Holden and West Boylston.
