Don't use this company
Do not do business with this company!
My wife and I were moving from Albuquerque to Dallas in November of 2010, we set up the move a month in advance with Chase at World Van Lines. They charged our card the deposit (20% of the expected total) and told us they'd be there on 11/20/2010 at 9 AM sharp. We called a week before the scheduled move date and they confirmed everything was set up and ready. 9AM on 11/20 came and the movers didn't show. We called WWVL but no one answered or returned our call until 12PM, they said the movers were running behind but should be there soon. 2 hours later, still no movers and no answer once again. After days of this back and forth, the movers finally showed up 12/1/2010. They packed up our stuff and we finally thought we were getting this done.
On 12/2 we get to Dallas. We owed them a balance of $799, but the driver demanded $1, 400 in cash or he was driving off with our stuff. I argued with him about it for over an hour. He claimed our stuff was over weight, but wouldn't show me a record proving that. I couldn't get ahold of anyone at WWVL (surprise surprise). We needed our stuff, so I went to the bank and got the money. They unloaded everything and we found 3 boxes were missing. They claimed they never went on the truck.
The next day I tried to get ahold of anyone at WWVL, no answer or returned calls. Finally, I posed as a new customer to get someone on the phone, I was transferred to a supervisor who blew off my concerns telling me there was nothing I could do about it. They would not give any refund whatsoever.
Whatever you do, don't use this company!

Rip off
The moving company WWVL sub-contracted with damaged many of my most expensive pieces of furniture and they have not responded to repeated attempts regarding the claim I filed back in December. They have repeatedly referred me to customer service who virtually has never responded to the many phone calls and emails I have sent. There is just an answering machine and no way to speak to a person or contact management.

We were misrepresented
I have a question. We did not review this company until someone advised us to. We filled out and sent their paperwork as well as our debit card number, it is not to be cashed until 2wks before move. Is there anyway we can get out of this terrible situation? We were misreprecented, assured of all kinds of things, told they had their own fleet of trucks, very professional drivers etc. We changed our debit number and notified the company.

Horrible Horrible Company
This is a moving broker - they find movers for you who are completely unprofessional and unreliable. Avoid this company at all costs. My list of complaints is too long to list, just be warned.

This is a scam operation
This is a scam operation! We booked a moving date of Dec 29 with Rob ext 410 in the Fl office. He assured us we were solid on the date we picked and he could even give us this "price" because it worked perfectly with his trucks location for that day. We payed a large deposit upfront and they didn't show up. We called for days ahead of time and then the morning of the move all packed up ready to go and needing to be moved on schedule for a job relo then they said they might work us in the schedule sometimes within the next month. After another look at the fine print in the contract this is deemed acceptable. They will not take your phone calls after receiving your deposit. After reading many other reviews I consider myself lucky they didn't touch my furniture. I wish we read the reviews first. I'm looking to join with others for a large law suit agaist this horribile operation. Don't even consider doing business with them.

This company needs to be shut down
I was called by this company after I submitted an enquiry of moving companies for a move from New York to North Carolina. I was called by this woman Suzanne and she was oh so very nice and helpful from the start. I felt at the time that she was the right person to book my move with. Boy was I wrong. I sent her a deposit for $500.00 and she sent a confirmation for the move with the pickup dates etc. Well, my sister used them also. Her move was a complete nightmare but she will write her own review. My pickup date was for August 16, 2009. I was suppose to use the same person as my sister after her move but her move was so bad that I asked them to change me to another carrier. They did that but boy it was another disaster.
The company they told me that would pick me up after I found out that World Wide Van Lines were just a broker that found drivers to do the work, was AJ Movers who is just two guys with a rental truck that could barely hold my furniture. First of all they didn't arrive on the pickup date and they didn't call. I called World Wide Van Lines and they started to avoid my calls because they didn't want to deal with the problem that I was having. They had my money so their part was over so to speak. Now it was between me and the driver of the truck. I finally reached the driver after a day of calling all over the place and he told me that the truck had broken down and they would be at my place the next day. That didn't happen. I called the second day and they were still in West Virginia where they supposedly broke down. The driver didn't get to my house until August 20, 2009 and that was at 5:00pm. They started to load the truck and had my nine year old son to help them. I didn't complain because I wanted to get out of there. I was so upset that I couldn't even speak. We didn't get out of there until that night about 10:00pm. I followed the truck and finally they stopped to rest at hotel in Pennsylvania. They spent the night there and left there the next morning. We got into North Carolina the next night and they unloaded my furniture in the dark again with my son's help. When those two men finally left, I noticed that all of my beds were destroyed. They put up my kids twin beds with nails, not the screws that came out of them. The wood was broken so I had to throw it out. They put up my Queen size bed where the box spring and the mattress were not even aligned. My boxes had broken dishes and glass. It was a nightmare. The guys were not professionals and World Wide Van Lines had just contracted them out to help them find a job to do. I beg of you, PlEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The truck hadn't been weighed before they loaded my furniture but they told me that the truck weighed 19, 000 lbs. Therefore when they weighed my furniture after the pickup, they had enough weight to make it go over what it should have been. This company needs to be shut down. They are a total rip off. I have never had an experience like this before in my life. The sad part is, I read the reviews before using them and decided that no one could be this bad but believe you me, I was so wrong. After World Wide Van Lines get your deposit, it is on you. They are done and the burden is now between you and the truck driver. By the way, you pay the driver at the end in cash or money order, you don't pay World Wide Van Lines, they got their money from the beginning.

Don't believe an they anything
Don't believe ANYTHING they say, read the contract & know you can get cheated. They are not a moving company, but brokers for other moving companies you don't get to choose. All the bad reviews are true, I believed them when they said they weren't, I got burned to the tune of $1900. The pieces that were my great grandmothers were treated like Wal-mart clearance. AND they won't return calls once you get skunked! I feel they were fraudulent & they acted like extortionists in my opinion. I have the proof, so I doubt they can respond.

Their customer service is worse and unreasonable at best
WorldWide Van Lines (WWVL) has contract with Bobby and Ken/ Dependable moving as a small moving companies and their customer service is worse and unreasonable at best. They yell at you and not respect anything at all. Also they try to rip off your money and give worse customer service. Please see example below. We were suppose to be moved by Bobby on 4th June, who did not show up and then finally we moved our stuff with Ken/ Dependable moving on 5th June. When drivers arrived at our home, they mentioned they will go to Indianapolis and then they will go to Pearland/Houston, TX. As per driver, they said it would not possible to deliver our stuff on 7th june, when we said we don't want to move then driver mentioned to call his Boss Ken and Kend mentioned that go ahead and sign contract, we'll deliver your stuff on Sunday, 7th June. Instead of that our stuff arrived on 10th of June and we had to post pone and cancel flight tkts of my wife/daughter/ parents from Houston.
Anyway, worse experience begins now with cheating about how much our stuff weigh. I moved 4 time in last 4 year so we have some idea what we have and what we don't. We were suppose to pay 900 $ for 4500 lb wt of my move. If it is less WWVL will pay me back and if it is more then I will pay them upfront. On 10th June ~ 8:15am I was called by WWVL about extra wt (280 lbs more) of our stuff and I was asked to pay $998 (900 + 98). I was told that total wt of truck was 22780 lbs (empty wt 18000 lbs + my stuff 4780 lbs) and our stuff weighed 4780 lbs so we have to pay difference of 280 lbs excess wt, which was 98 $.
Somehow we thought lets just weigh truck before unloading and after unloading our stuff and make it clear. When my wife went to weight station to weigh truck, it was only 20680 lbs (2100 lbs less then what they told me) so if empty truck wt is 18000 lbs then our stuff wt is only 2680 lbs and much less then 4500 lbs so we should not even pay 900 $ but pay less then 900 $. Now Ken changes and calls us and says empty truck wt is 14100 lbs so I have to pay for 2180 lbs (6680 lbs – 4500 lbs) $ 780 extra on $ 900. It did not make sense how Ken was calculating. Empty truck wt changed from 18000 to 14000 lbs in one day. Anyways we were threaten by Ken and drivers that unless we pay them upfront 1680 $ ($1500 in money order and $ 180 cash) they would not unload stuff. They even left our home after emptying few boxes off the truck. I tried to explain to Ken it did not work out and I wasted my time. I was helpless since I was still in Springfield, MO and my wife, 1 yr baby, my senior citizen parents were in Pearland/ Houston, TX with movers. Ken and us agreed that lets wt truck after they unload our stuff and they will pay me the difference or charge me appropriately according to wt.
We called WWVL multiple times to clarify this issue but WWVL Haley/ or Haleigh comes on phone and then put us on hold without listening what we have to say. Ken also mentioned that he asked WWVL to call me or my wife. My wife also called and she was put on hold by Haley again and she never called us back. I think Haley will only realize if someone else does this to her after getting deposit and money. As WWVL never came on phone, we had no choice but pay to Ken 1680 $ ($1500 in money order and $ 180 cash) and get wt of empty truck done by our self. Even we paid for truck wt, that is not norm when we move- moving company does that. This wt was suppose to be done before loading truck at my house and after loading at my house in Springfield, MO.
I was suspicious with their demand of $ 1680 since it was unusual charges for wt we did not move so initially I was hesitant but finally we gave them $ 1500- money order and 180 cash. As per Ken, driver will give us back our cash and money order if empty truck wt shows our total wt 15 mins without any communication and they just hang up. That's Haley. She did this 3 times without understanding WWVL responsibility to resolve that current issue. WWVL is the company we trust before signing a contract. It is your responsibility to protect your customers. It is like Haleigh/ Steve don't want to talk.
I think this needs to be improved and no one will do business if they know what kind of service WWVL and their subcontractors provides. There needs to be honesty and dependability to movers.
Anyways, while I am writing we still have to do wt of empty truck and lets see what happens.
This is unbelievable real life event.

Awful company
First they were 5 days late picking up our furniture akthough they stated they had a strict two-day window for picking up, requiring us to stay at a hotel since our waterbed had been drained and taken apart for the pickup. Then we had no idea when it would arrive from SC to NH because neither Darrel Lawson nor Haley would return our calls and the foreigners they hired to deliver our furniture and all our household goods and clothing decided to travel to several other states and make other pickups and deliveries first, the 1.5 to 2 day delivery time we were told ended up just under two weeks ! Our lost rebate from moving out of our apartment late and hotel and meals cost due to WWVL's lack of follow-through came to $ 920.00 thus far and still no movers had showed up ! Then the movers called at 6pm and wanted to deliver at midnight that evening, but we said no, it would be too dark, so they said first thing in the morning. Fine, the next day they showed up at 3pm, very hungover and demanded an extra $300 cash before unloading anything. None of our furniture was wrapped or padded as should have been according to the contract - the movers refused to assemble the bed according to the contract. They just said that our contract was with WWVL and not with them. I had to call the Police in as they were going to leave with my furniture unless they had the $500 bal. due and an extra $300 all in cash. Police found driver with suspended license and noncomercial truck. Police convinced them to unload with a compromise of $160 extra and they quickly shoved all boxes in a pile, those marked 'fragile' on the bottom and damaged our bed while throwing the pieces to the floor. And that was with Police intervention ! WWVL are just scammers that hire the cheapest jobbers they can find and never return your calls after they have your upfront money. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
