My husband and I had a balance of about 6, 000 dollars on our Am Ex bill. We just got the card in November of 2010 (it is now February 2011) and put our Christmas expenses on the card. Yesterday, my husband finished paying the 6, 000 dollar balance to ZERO. We were relieved! No credit card debt! Today, I tried to use my credit card to buy gas and it was declined.
