I reserved a car through Hotwire and received a confirmation. When I appeared at the airport to pick up the car, the rental company (Budget) refused to honor the price. I was forced to rent a car at a much higher price because by then it was too late to reserve with another company. I complained to Hotwire and was told that they "rely on the staff of [their] car rental partners" and are "unable to resolve specific issues on behalf of our car rental partners.
