Why American car companies cannot compete: Poor quality Poor service I purchased a 2005 Pontiac G6, 3 miles before the warranty was up the engine blew. Can you believe it a new car and before the mfg. warranty was up the engine threw a rod and had to be replaced. The dealership the car was towed to, (i had no say in the matter), was rude, arrogant and obnoxious and it took a month before i got my car back. Forward to December of '08, the power steering goes.
