A person calling himself Fred Dixon called me saying he was from a place called Emerald Solutions and that while they could not grant me a student loan, they could approve me for a $5000 personal loan at the rate of 6% fixed for 5 years. This was not the same company to which I applied for the student loan. Sounded too good to be true of course.
