In 2008 I wanted Discover to match a competitors rate. My cedit score is flawless and I never was late or had a missed payment. Discover would not match the interest rate of another company so I wanted to pay off my Discover Card. I called them and remitted payment BUT instead of it just being paid off they closed the account. Now if I want to use Discover I have to reapply and have a double impact on my credit score because it was harmed once by them closing the account and it would be harmed again by re-opening what would be looked at as an additional account. read full review »
