I'm a medical student, and I just got $600 stolen by M&T Bank. I opened a checking account with M&T Bank on 1/18/2011, and faxed my signature card to them; they accepted my opening deposit. I received a notice from them about a week later stating that my account was frozen until I fax in a utility bill, social security card, and drivers license as well. I did just as they asked.
