On December 14, 2010 I attempted to purchase a Christmas gift for my wife, but my Chase VISA card was rejected. When I called Chase I was told that I exceeded my credit limit. I knew that my limit was approximately 16K and that I had just paid $5800, which would have allowed my extra purchasing power.
