Over a year ago when I was checking out with purchases from Stein Mart I was told that they were offering 3 mos. free magazine subscriptions as a "thank you" to their preferred customers. I declined at first saying I was not interested in subscribing to any magazines. The cashier persisted, saying they were free & asked what I would choose since they were free & I would not be charged, so I acquiesced. A month or so later the magazines began showing up.
