I was on the bad side of an ebaY deal. ebay is in my opinion a highly respctable entity and I still purchase through them. What went bad: I purchased an item for a dealer known as princessgirls1201 (also listed on Overstock.com) and I never received the item. I emailed the person and was told "Oh, sorry we were not notified of this transaction." Yea-right!
