My mom who is close to 90 had an annuity with Genworth for over 20 years. When it came due, they told her they would notgive her another annuity because of her age, she had the option of annuitizing (at no interest ) or cashing out. She choose to cash out to pay medical bills and they threw a $1500 cash out fee at her, eventhough the contract expired.
