Have had my two cards originally with Providian, bought out by WAMU, then bought out by Chase. In the last eighteen months I have had my interest rate raised by at least 8-9%, with no reason given, other than "to maintain profitibility" on the account. Now i do carry balances on the cards, but i make more than than minimum payment required, never been late, never gone over the limit.
