I needed a phone number. PhoneAgent runs an internet service promising a search for $1.00 with a guarantee to refund the $1.00 if they do not have the information. This turns out to be a credit for another search. In addition, because I chose to try the service for $1.00 (instead of the one time use fee of $4.95) they automatically enrolled me in their monthly service for $18.95 with the provision that I could cancel by calling within 7 days (small print notice).
