I bought a maytag neptune clothes dryer for nearly $1000. In less than 5 years the stainless steel drum started separating at the seam. Now there is a huge gap that clothes get caught on. Now when the timer counts down and gets to 1 instead of going off it continues to run. If you do not get the clothes out immediately they get so hot that when you open the door it sets off the smoke alarm. The appliance repair man said it would cost between $400 to $500.
