I received a $25.50 late fee on a purchase of $69.00. My payment was due on 2/12, which is the date that their system automatically puts the late fees on. They recieved my check on the 14th. It is not the first time that I have been hit with a large late fee on a small balance when they received payment a day or two late - no more than that. When they look at my account history they see that I pay on time, in full each and every month. This time they told me that they would take 1/2 off the late fee.
