If you don't buy the (expensive) insurance at the time of car rental, Alamo will try to claim damage at the time of the car return. (When the plane is waiting). To make matters worse, they will notify you three months later, at which time your credit card will no longer cover the damage. Alamo will then inflate the damage costs and send you to collections.
