Surety Acceptance Corporation bought an old utility debt which was on my credit report. It was a $35 gas bill. I already paid that particular debt off years ago, and it was for some reason still on my credit report when I checked in January 2011 because I was double-checking my credit and paying everything off with my tax return so that I could apply for a mortgage.
