Duke Energy is the devil of utility companies. We had a bill that didn't get paid back in February. I made a check payment through their automated system and thought I was good to go. Unfortunately the payment never hit my bank account, so Duke came out and disconnected us. Since I thought it was my error, I went ahead and paid the $250 bill plus a reconnect fee and a deposit.
