After 2 months of using Proactive, my skin cleared, but was incredibly dry and irritated. Even trying the so-called new "gentler formula" didn't help. So I decided to do a little research to see what could help. What I ended up discovering is that the active ingredient in Proactive, Benzoyl Peroxide, has been shown to cause skin cancer by increasing free radicals in your skin.
