My wife and I each received a letter from Afni, Inc. claiming we owe in excess of $1000 in unpaid phone bills to Verizon dating back to 1996. When I called them they said the unpaid bills were sent to an address in San Bernardino, CA. They did know, however, my SS# and DOB. The debt claims are fraudulent -- neither me nor my wife were ever Verizon customers -- and I told them I dispute the charges. I am contacting Illinois Attorney General and BBB to file a complaint. read full review »
