My husband and I had a loan with Santander for 2 years regarding a car loan, and never missed a payment or submitted a payment late. We recently refinanced, in which the new financier paid off the account, but we inadvertently submitted another payment not knowing the account was closed. This created a credit to the account which has been acknowledged by Santander.
