I tried to buy a Xoom tablet from Newegg. I signed up for the preferred customer plan so that I could pay my account off in 12 months or less. First I was accepted, then I was declined, then I was accepted...bottom line, despite the fact that I have an excellent credit rating, Newegg wanted me to buy with a credit card, rather than buy on their credit. So forget about applying for a Newegg Customer Preferred Account. Even though they say you've been approved (for $4000 line of credit in my case), apparently it means absolutely nothing. Newegg may have good prices, but if you want to buy on their credit plan, forget it!!! read full review »
