I purchased the "9 dollar fare club" of Spirit airlines because doing so allows you to get cheaper rates on flights and checked bags. The only way to get the cheaper checked bag fare is to log in as a member on their website. I've tried many, many times (at least 100 times) over a period of more than a week, at different times of the day.
