My husband received their letter looking very authentic describing how he was the third place winner in the National Geographic Sweepstakes. His reward was for $100, 000. I told him (stupidly) to go to the bank and cash the attached check for $3, 085.00 (apparently for insurance, handling duty, taxes fees). Luckily, the bank was closed. I did some research and found many other posts on this website from people in the same exact situation and worse because they cashed the check! Please be careful and don't fall for it.
