In March 2010 I encountered a serious accident with a Cuisinart Power Blender. The blender caught on fire and seriously burned and injured my left hand and wrist causing a permanent disability. I just learned that reconstructive surgery to improve the appearance of my hand and wrist would cost $7, 500.00 and is not covered by my health insurance since the procedure is considered cosmetic.
