My boyfriend had a credit card from Chase Bank a few years back. One evening they called him and told him that since he was such good customer he had earned a credit of $500 to be received as credit to his card or in a check. Apparently they had a case back bonus program and the $500 was his bonus. I overheard the conversation and he asked them three times if this money was free and clear, which they assured him was the case.
