My wife and I had two AKC miniature pinschers, and eventually they bred. We took the pregnant female to our veterinarian at Noah's Ark veterinary clinic in Parsons, Kansas. We told the vet that we had never had a litter of puppies before, and we wanted him to do everything that was necessary to ensure the health of the mother and her puppies.
