Wow! Same question here. I thought Germany has Universal Health Care and that it is mandatory to have health and dental insurance no matter how rich or poor you are. If this is the case why would you travel to Costa Rica to pay for something you could have gotten for free back home? Two years and a failure? The doctors more than likely offered to re-do the work for free minus the travel expenses. Much better than any of us would get in the United States.
