Bottom Line Books
Ed Nuhfer December 15, 2009
If you Search "Bottom Line" here rather than "Bottom Line Books, " you'll find hundreds of complaints. Bottom Line is bad news and a serious scam. They will send unsolicited materials and hound you with billing. They will claim on mailings that they do so because you asked them to do so. I responded last year when they sent an unordered book and told them never to do it again. Last week, they dropped another on me and I sent it return mail collect from the nearest post office. Don't open anything you get from Bottom... read full review »

Acai Berry & Colon Cleanse
Ed Nuhfer August 7, 2009
The Acai scammer are at it again with a fake study allegedly done by a New York Television Station. Go to <http://www.news11.tv/2/> and try to find report "Julia" or the TV Station. They are further trying to even imply that Consumer Reports is involved. The ad lies about the study, lies about the station, and lies about the "free" offer by implying no obligation (tee hee!). The only thing more worthless than Acai may be the Federal Trade Commission, who allows this preying on consumers to go on and on. read full review »

Bottom Line Books = bad news
Ed Nuhfer June 3, 2009
Always check Amazon.com for books before ordering. If the books are not marketed through Amazon.com where you can see the reviews of customers and peers, DON'T BUY ANY OF THOSE BOOKS! They are almost surely published by purveyors of bullshit. Very little can be seen about Bottom Line books at Amazon. No wonder--they don't want anyone seeing to see the comments we are writing here on the Complaints Board, which would occur if Amazon did market these. Their ads are formula-written to induce desperate buyers. The formula i... read full review »

Acai anything
Ed Nuhfer April 29, 2009
As a safeguard, register all your phones on the federal do not call registry at https://www.donotcall.gov/ Once you get off the Acai subscription list (search this site for "How to get off it, " you will likely be pounced on with a vengeance by telemarketers from various Acai "affiliates." As you call each number and get off their "subscriptions, " be certain to inform the agent that your phone number is on the federal no call registry (don't lie--register your phone first). As soon as you have done thi... read full review »

Acai Burn linked to Acai X3
Ed Nuhfer April 27, 2009
Within under two hours after unsubscribing to the three firms that getting a "free sample" of Acai Burn snags you into, I got a solicitation call on my federal no-call number from AcaiX3. Within about an hour, the folks at AcaiX3 knew I had dropped Acai Burn and they were phoning me from their 800 586 0917 to try to get me to subscribe to AcaiX3. Obviously, these two are joined at the hip and are part of the same larger scamming operation. FTC seems asleep at the wheel to be letting this go on and on. read full review »

Acai Burn
Ed Nuhfer April 27, 2009
The Acai Nurn and Acai berry scams are almost legendary. About two months ago my bank replaced my credit card at their initiative by noting that it "may have been compromised." If your bank or credit union is on its toes, it may well have done the same for you. The cause of "may have been compromised" is likely the Acai scammers. Many of us were taken in by the web ad flaunting Rachael Rae and other celebrities. The purpose of the ad is to distract you from the small print. In addition to getting billed for Acai pills of... read full review »

Acai Berry
Ed Nuhfer April 26, 2009
This seems to be part of a large, well-financed, and talented scam team. They appear to hawk several products such as colon cleanse and tooth whiteners. There is no physical address. Try to reach them and all you get is "[email protected]" email. From complaints of other victims, it appears these folks move around from state to state. Their site contains endorsements. Allegedly Hollywood/TV prominents Rachael Rae and Oprah are heavy endorsers. The degree to which Rachel Rae appears on the site indicates that she really could be... read full review »
