Two years ago we went to this company (Dillard's) to buy a cologne for my husband (back then boyfriend). The lady at the counter offered us to apply for credit (like they usually do) and my husband did, thought it was a good idea at the time. A couple of weeks later, we recieved a statement stating we owed almost 800 dollards worth of clothing and other stuff that was bought the same day and the day after my husband had applied for their credit card (which we never bought of course!).
