I closed my Capital One Credit Card 4 years ago when I was living in Florida because I never used it. I closed it with a zero balance and I didn't want to continue paying a $50 annual service fee for a card I didn't use. After cancelling it with their outsource people in India or Pakistan, I thought it was taken care of. Three months later, I get a statement showing a $50 annual fee again for them.
