You've heard the basics from others. Here's a twist: After Chase took over my Amazon card they announced that they are raising rates. OK. So I pay of some $12, 000 that I had been carrying because of the old low rate. THEN they send me a letter saying they noticed the big payments and hope I'm not mad about the rate increase, or considering dumping them ! Darn right I am! Then they give me some of those annoying check to get even deeper in debt, so they can find a reason to raise rates some more? No thanks Chase. I'll be done with you by July 1st.
