Whirlpool set up a repair apt for me with A &E to have my refrigerator repaired. They told me I have a service fee which was $98 which would be applied to repairs and deducted if I decided to do them. The man came and said I was NOT under warranty gave me a huge estimate and said he didn't have the part anyway it would have to be ordered. To make a long story short, I WAS covered for parts under my warranty, my cost of repair should have been about 1/2 of what he quoted.
