Skype (or their partner- Level 3 Communications, L.L.C. ) stole my $60 one-year subscription for a SkypeIn phone number approximately 6 months after initiating. After a few weeks of 'radio-silence' from my business and social contacts I thought to 'call myself' from another land-line, only to hear the sound of a fax machine attempting to negotiate a connection.
