I am behind on my mortgage. I have been actively working on a loan modification since December 2008. Originally I was working with a law firm but decided to take on the task myself in order to save myself the money. Basically, nothing happened between December and April. My file basically stood still. Then, in early April, Citi offered me a forbearance plan which actually made my payments go up about $500 per month.
