I traded in my 07 Rabbit for an automatic diesel Jetta TDI, and it broke down within 2 days due to a faulty transmission. After replacing a couple of sensors, the issue persisted, so I'm now waiting for some part that's on national back order. They think my lemon will be ready for me by the middle of next week...that's 2.5 weeks in the shop after I drove it a mere 150 miles.
