Today I got my bill from Chase and noticed the APR increased from 9.24% to 16.24%. I have never defaulted, I always pay more than the minimum, and I have not made a purchase (besides a tank of gas) in over a year. I called to find out why and the rep said Chase sent a letter in May (which I never got) saying that all APR will increase and the only way to retain your current APR is to opt out - BY CANCELING YOUR ACCOUNT!
