I have recorded many TV programs with my Sony DVD recorder, model RDR-GXD455 (RDRGXD455). I hoped to have them for a long time. However, with this recorder a long time is about three weeks. That's about how long I can go with a DVD that is full of favorite TV shows before the Sony recorder erases the entire disk. When I check the menu to see what is on the DVD, the message says “There is no title” and there is nothing on the DVD. The player finalizes the disk too. There is no way to unfinalize the DVD either.
