I just received a $1, 000 + invoice from dtv for "non-returned dtv equipment" (3 dvr receivers) after I cancelled the service on last month. I called dtv to explain that I owned the equipment which I think was purchased at Best Buy a few years back. The first person was very helpful and confirmed that I had not entered into any "program commitments" which typically would have a cancellation fee.
