So here's what happened in a nutshell. I paid $999 to get my home loan refinanced. I paid for a appraisal that they claimed I would be reimbursed for. I actually signed loan docs, then one month later they called and told me they lost their funding for the loan and wanted to offer me a new loan but a a much higher interest rate because rates had risen in the meantime.
